Overview:

The Colorado River through Westwater Canyon offers striking deep canyon scenery and some challenging whitewater all in a short trip, a hard combination to find. This trip is perfect for the person who only has 1 or 2 days to raft. This part of the Colorado River system is sometimes referred to as a smaller version of the Grand Canyon due to the rock layers seen on this stretch. Located a convenient distance from either Green River, UT or Moab, UT it is any easy trip to add to a Southwest itinerary.
The rapids are rated Class III-IV in its 17-40 miles. Oar powered raftes are used. Occasionally paddle rafts and inflatable kayaks are available depending on experience and water levels. Trips start in Moab or Green River, UT with some departures available from Grand Junction, CO. The season runs May-October. Minimum age is 8 years old.
