Whales & Wildlife: Cruising to Land's End
This trip begins and ends in La Paz traveling along the eastern end of the Baja Peninsula. You will see gray whales on the Pacific coast as well as humpback whales along the way. The trip will offer the opportunity to snorkel with the sea lions at Los Islotes, time to explore Los Frailes and snorkel in Cabo Pulmo which is the most northern coral reef in the Pacific. On the trip you will visit La Isla Cerralvo which is the southernmost island of the Sea of Cortez. Here you will be able to kayak or hike and enjoy the whales, birds, plants and fish which congregate here. A one day extension is also available for folks who would like to visit the gray whales in Magdalena Bay.
The trip is run aboard the 80’ Don Jose which can accommodate up to 14 passengers in seven above deck cabins. Snorkel gear is provided at no additional cost and kayaks are also provided so you will be able to explore the nearby coves and beaches at each night’s anchorage.
The trip is 8 days/7 nights and prices start at $1995 pp based on double occupancy. This trip is run only in February so it can take advantage of the gray & humpback whale season.

Sea of Cortez Wildlife Cruise:
This voyage is for those seeking to experience the huge diversity available in the Sea of Cortez where one third of the world’s species of whales and dolphins are seasonal residents. This is one of the few places in the world where you can frequently see blue whales. Second only to blue whales in size are the giant finback whales and they actually have made this there year round home since is the gulf is so productive in plankton.
The trip is run aboard the 80’ Don Jose which can accommodate up to 14 passengers in seven above deck cabins. Snorkel gear is provided at no additional cost and kayaks are also provided so you will be able to explore the nearby coves and beaches at each night’s anchorage.
The trip is 8 days/7 nights starting at the end of February through mid April. The trip dates alternate between Loreto to La Paz and La Paz to Loreto.

San Ignacio Lagoon Whale Watching Camp:

In between whale watching excursions, you can kayak through the labyrinth mangrove estuaries to bird watch in this natural aviary, or comb the peaceful shoreline to discover remnants of the sea. Our experienced guides are always ready to lend a hand and share their knowledge. Our catered camp is situated at water's edge with safari-style tents, cots, and solar-heated showers to make your days and nights comfortable and carefree. Magdelena Bay Multi-Fun Camp:
In the warm and protected waters of Magdalena Bay, gray whale calves remain in close contact with their mothers while they grow large enough to migrate north. The surreal landscape provides a dramatic background as these noble creatures allow us to watch them roll, breach and tend to their young. Sea turtles, huge numbers of migratory birds, and dolphins also congregate here.
Water activities feature whale watching from skiffs, paddling kayaks through tangled mangrove estuaries rich with wildlife. On land, you'll have fun walking on – or tumbling down – towering sand dunes, along miles of unspoiled beaches.
Our comfortable base camp is situated on a secluded beach and equipped with every amenity, from walk-in tents to jicara-style showers.
Magdalena Bay is ranked by the World Wildlife Fund as one of the nine most important coastal habitats in all of Mexico. Evening guide-led talks about the whales and wildlife of the area will help put it all in perspective.

Custom Sailing Charters Aboard el Mechudo
You can explore the Sea of Cortez in style aboard this Robertson and Caine catamaran sailing yacht. It has four en-suite cabins with a galley & saloon plus a large covered dining area outside. The boat comes with a full crew and it offers the flexibility to enjoy all that the Sea of Cortez has to offer. It is available for charter year round and depending on your interest certain times of the year are better for different types of activities.
February through April: Ideal for whale watching, hiking, kayaking and snorkeling
May through July: Snorkeling, diving, hiking and bird watching
August through October: Best for SCUBA diving and snorkeling
November through January: Snorkeling, kayaking, hiking and depending on wind conditions it can be good for diving with the hammerheads.
The minimum rental period is two nights and the cost is $2250 per 24 hour period for up to 8 passengers. It includes food, crew and gear.
